About the school

About the school

A place to learn, perform, and belong.

A place to learn, perform, and belong.

Devyani School of Cultural Arts began with a simple belief: that dance is a living language, best passed from teacher to student. Founded by Priya Persaud in 2009, the studio has sent dancers to iconic stages including Walt Disney World, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and the Kia Center. As an Indo-Caribbean studio, our story is a living celebration of the diaspora, bringing together the grace of Bharatanatyam, the soul of Bollywood, and the fire of Chutney and Soca, proving that culture and heritage don't fade with distance. Following in our ancestors' footsteps, our team keeps that culture alive through music, dance, and community. Students of every age, background, and ability are welcome, from first-time movers to seasoned performers, building confidence, cultural connection, and artistry through disciplined, joyful practice.
